Blisland
This figure of eight walk is situated not far north of Bodmin, and is effectively two loops which means we can shorten our distance if we feel the need. However, if we were to do this we would miss the combination of open access Downs, country lanes, bridleways, footbridges and a woodland stroll. The added beauty of this walk is that our start and finish point is outside (or inside!) a proper pub. It is a little different having Downs that are not too exposed, and that are high enough to have broad views out across Cornwall. I find it rather nice that we can also have a walk in the woods on the same day. In old books on Cornwall and in particular the habits of we Cornish, it suggests that on those rare day offs we Cornish would rather retire to woodlands than the beaches. I find today that it seems to be the opposite today, as the last time I did this walk, the only other person I saw was An Wreg (Cornish for The Wife).
